Privacy
Your journal stays yours.
A plain-language account of the information used by the current StoicEdge beta and the controls available to you.

Information the beta uses
- Clerk handles account identity, sign-in, session, and email-verification information.
- StoicEdge stores the roadmaps, rules, setups, daily entries, trades, and reviews you choose to enter.
- Optional screenshots are stored separately as private account assets.
- In-app feedback stores the category, note, and StoicEdge page path you submit.
- Your browser keeps an account-scoped backup and recovery copy when browser storage is available.
How it is used
The current beta uses this information to authenticate you, save and restore your journal, calculate your own process metrics, show weekly and 90-day evidence, help recover unsynced edits, and review beta feedback. It does not connect to a brokerage, place trades, or generate trade recommendations.
Where it is stored
Account journal state and submitted feedback are stored in Postgres through Prisma. Clerk provides authentication. Private screenshot files use Vercel Blob when screenshot storage is enabled for the hosted environment. These providers process information needed to operate the service under their own security and privacy practices.
Your controls
- Export a versioned JSON copy from Settings → Data.
- Import a backup only after reviewing and confirming what it will replace.
- Delete StoicEdge journal records, submitted feedback, and private screenshots from Settings → Data while keeping the Clerk login.
- Deleting the Clerk account also sends StoicEdge a signed deletion event so its journal, feedback, and private files can be removed.
- Clear this site's browser data to remove the browser-held backup from that device.
JSON exports do not contain feedback reports or screenshot files. Hosted infrastructure may retain operational backups for provider-defined periods after deletion; the beta does not currently expose a separate backup-retention control.
After journal deletion, StoicEdge retains a minimal Clerk-linked record and deletion timestamp. Browser backups must match that exact server-issued deletion epoch, so a stale device clock or tab cannot silently restore erased journal data. The browser first prepares a same-session safety marker; if exact backup removal is blocked, the cleanup link expires but that tab keeps the stale copy suppressed until cleanup or site-data clearing. Screenshot files are detached from the account in the same operation; if private storage is temporarily unavailable, their deletion remains queued for automatic and scheduled retry. If the Clerk identity itself is deleted, a marked minimal StoicEdge row temporarily owns any durable private-file cleanup records and prevents a recently issued session token from replaying deleted data. After a short token-safety window and the final cleanup tombstone drain, that row is removed.
Cookies and local storage
Clerk uses browser storage and cookies needed for account sessions. StoicEdge uses browser local storage for journal backup, conflict recovery, and first-sign-in migration. The current beta does not include advertising trackers.
Questions or deletion help
Use the feedback action in Settings → Data or the Stoic Traders contact link below if you need help with a journal export, deletion, or privacy question. Do not place passwords, broker or account numbers, API keys, private trading details, or other secrets in journal notes or feedback.
